Baylor softball splits doubleheader with No. 10 LSU
Regan Green held No. 10 LSU scoreless for four innings, and Kassidy Krupit limited the Tigers to one run over the final three innings while adding a two-run home run of her own in Baylor's 5-1 win over LSU in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday.
The first three hitters for Baylor drove in all five runs, including leadoff hitter Nicky Dawson's 2-run double and Lou Gilbert's sacrifice fly.
Baylor (18-29) lost the first game of the doubleheader 4-2. Belton's Sidney Holman had her no-hitter broken up with one out in the sixth inning and struck out eight Tigers batters in the first three innings.
Josie Bower connected on her first-career home run in the third inning to open the scoring, blasting the ball off the light pole beyond the right-center field wall.
LSU (40-12), despite striking out 10 times against Holman, added four runs in the final two innings.
The Lady Bears will play their final home game of the 2019 season Tuesday against UTSA.
