Baylor's James Lynch named Bednarik Player of the Week Award winner

WACO, Texas (KWTX) Baylor junior defensive lineman James Lynch earned the Chuck Bednarik Player of the Week award after a career-high three sacks against Kansas State.

Lynch, who was named to the preseason watch list for the Bednarik Award, has six sacks this season to raise his career total to 14.5 and is just three away from setting a new program record.

The Bears set a program record in sacks (6) in a Big 12 game while also tallying 15 tackles for loss -- four from Lynch, who also forced a fumble.

Baylor (5-0) will host Texas Tech (3-2) Sat., Oct. 12, at 3 p.m.
