Baylor's London advances to 400m semifinals at World Championships

Baylor junior track star Wil London has advanced to the semifinals at the IAAF World Championships.
The 19-year old posted a time of 45.10 in the 400-meter race to finish second in Heat 4 behind the Bahamas' Steven Gardiner (44.75) but ahead of Ireland's Brian Gregan (45.37) and Belgium's Jonathan Borlee (45.70).
Texas A&M's Fred Kerley (44.92) won his heat to advance along with Trinidad & Tobago's Lalonde Gordon (45.02) and Belgium's Kevin Borlee (45.09).
Reigning Olympic gold medalist Wayde Van Niekerk of South Africa won his heat with a time of 45.27 seconds.
Kerley and London will be in the first of three semifinal heats Sunday afternoon set for 1:40 p.m.
