The Belton Lady Tigers are back in the playoffs as the District 12-6A champions and hoping to make a long postseason run. It's a run that seems possible after an outstanding regular season.

Belton finished as the District 12-6A champion this year and didn't lose a single district game along the way. Now, they're taking that momentum into the postseason.

This is a Belton team that can hit the ball. Head Coach Matt Blackburn says he has 7 hitters in his lineup at any time that can hit home runs. He knows that's part of what's helped the Lady Tigers score runs in bunches this season.

Blackburn also credits a lot of their success to their veteran leadership. Belton has 8 seniors, 5 of whom were on the team three years ago that went four rounds into the playoffs.

Belton faces Mesquite Horn in a 3-game series starting Thursday. Game one is in Belton, games two and, if needed, 3 would be in Mesquite.
