Classroom Champions: Harker Heights' Grace Wallace
Grace Wallace is a Senior at Harker Heights High School. She's been a member of both the cross country and soccer teams. She's played soccer since age three and it shows.
“She understands the game and knows where everybody needs to be, and so she's a second coach on the field for us,” said Matthew Evans, Harker Heights Girl’s Soccer Coach.
Grace has been the team captain and MVP for two years in a row, so while she's now able to teach others, she's always thankful for what this sport has taught her.
“I think I've learned almost everything that I know now. Just how to be a good teammate and also a good leader and how to communicate,” said Grace Wallace, Harker Heights midfielder.
In the classroom she excels at everything, but her favorite subject is calculus.
“The numbers just make sense together. I feel like everything in calculus works in a system and everything has an answer,” said Wallace.
So grace loves running, soccer, numbers and art. She plans to study animation at Texas A&M in the fall.
“I love animated movies more than anything and I want to be able to make them someday,” explained Wallace.
So when she's not out on the field kicking a soccer ball, she's sketching.
“All the time. Probably when I'm not supposed to. I mostly like to draw dragons just because it's a very creative thing,” said Wallace.
