WACO, Texas Baylor starting quarterback Charlie Brewer may not be ready to play Saturday against Oklahoma State because he's in concussion protocol.
Brewer played last Thursday at West Virginia but left the game in the first half and never returned. Matt Rhule said Monday Brewer is in the concussion protocol and doing well but there are still several steps he has to pass before doctors clear him to play again.
Rhule says Brewer's status won't be known until he's cleared by doctors and then the coaches will also want to make sure he feels well enough to play in addition to that.
Brewer had his worst game as a Baylor Bear in West Virginia, throwing three first half interceptions before leaving the field.
If Brewer cannot play, Jalen McClendon will start for the Bears.
