Classroom Champions: Bosqueville's Jaci Hoffmeyer

BOSQUEVILLE, Texas (KWTX) Jaci Hoffmeyer has wanted to attend Texas A&M University since she was six years old.

This September, the Bosqueville senior received her acceptance letter.

“I was just really excited because I found out I got into Mays Business School," Hoffmeyer said. "That was a big accomplishment for me because I want to major in finance, so going to Mays was always a big accomplishment."

The future finance major is not quite done at Bosqueville but she has already accomplished a lot in her time there. Hoffmeyer is ranked fourth in her class, and is a co-captain of the volleyball team and varsity cheerleading squad.

She also helped lead the softball team to the fourth round of the playoffs last season.

“She just has that leadership quality, that can-do attitude, that drive that gets her through, and she comes out on top,” said head volleyball coach Judy Nunn.

On top of athletics, Hoffmeyer volunteers in her free time, as well as her time as a former Heart of Texas Sweetheart

“You get to deal with your actual community,” said Hoffmeyer. “I do volunteer service with nursing homes, but dealing with kids in the community and helping them with Special Olympics -- that was really cool to me. You get to go be hands on with people in your community that you don't normally see on a daily basis.”
