Golf has always been Jordan Daggs' sport of choice. The Ellison High School senior will be attending Hardin-Simmons next year on a golf scholarship, but one particular summer camp experience helped make that decision.
"Between my sophomore and junior years I went to camp," Daggs said. "That's where I was told by God that I should be a youth minister. I've had a lot of people tell me that youth ministry was a calling for me. I didn't really know if it was necessarily true or not."
"She has an opportunity to go study something that's very dear to her heart," said Jordan's father Joe. "She's been called into ministry and feels that Hardin-Simmons will give her an opportunity to pursue that calling in ministry and to play golf at the college level."
Along with being a member of the National Honor Society at Ellison High School, Jordan is also a captain of girls and boys golf teams.
"The team will basically choose who's the captain and who's the (assistant) captain," Jordan Daggs said. "If they choose a girl for the captain, then it has to be a boy for the (assistant) captain, and vice versa."
"She's very low-key," Joe Daggs said. "She's a very low-key individual, and her sister's totally different. High strung. She's very low-key and approaches every thing with a very healthy attitude and very low-key demeanor."
