Classroom Champions: Lorena's Caidon Livingston

LORENA, Texas (KWTX) Lorena senior Caidon Livingston is a stand-out basketball player, earning first team all-district honors his junior season and shooting over 40% from the three-point line for the 14-1 Lorena Leopards this season.

Caidon is also a four-year letterwinner in golf, but his true talent is on the diamond, where he earned a scholarship to play baseball at Murray State College.

Caidon is ranked 11th in his class at LHS, is a part of National Honor Society and has earned academic all-district in baseball, basketball, and golf all four years of high school.

Every Sunday, he volunteers at his church's nursery.

"I like working with the kids," Livingston said. "I think they are a lot of fun, especially since I've gotten to know them. I enjoy seeing them and I think they enjoy seeing me every Sunday morning."

Outside of the confines of the nursery, Caidon tries his best to compete and win.

"He just doesn't want to lose," Lorena coach Matt Jackson said. "He is just such a competitor, and he is also just a very smart kid in the classroom, and it translates out here as well. You can trust that he is where he needs to be when he needs to be there."
