Mexia's Jaden Proctor is known as a leader amongst his peers.

"He always has high standards for himself and the team," Mexia coach Justin Barnett said. "Whether he wants them to or not, people are going to follow him."

The senior led the Blackcat football team this fall as the quarterback. Now that it's basketball season, he's like a coach on the court. He excels in athletics as a whole, not just in football and basketball, but also in baseball and track.

What's equally impressive as his athletic abilities are his academics. Jaden is ranked 23rd in his class with a 4.335 GPA.

"I work hard. I just try to study as much as I can so it can pay off," Proctor said.

Jaden is hoping his grades and work on the field will allow for an opportunity to play in college. He wants to study education and eventually become a coach.
