Classroom Champions: Rapoport's Haven Booker
Haven Booker is a volleyball and basketball player for Rapoport Academy.
She is first in her class of 33 seniors. Away from school, she's involved at her local church, which helped her gain a memorable mission trip experience.
"We went to Breznitsa, Bulgaria a few times for mission trips," Booker said. "I fell in love with the people. It's amazing to see how they're happier than most Americans or anyone else and they have nothing. They're very loving and they have my heart."
Haven will be attending Baylor next year and plans on majoring in Speech Pathology.
"My cousin, Bryson, had a speech impediment for a few years," Booker said. "I really love him a lot. That made me want to do that."
"The world is not ready for Haven ... meaning she knows what she wants, and she will work to do whatever she needs to do to reach her goals," Rapoport volleyball coach Sheena Willis said. "She's open to not only to reach her goals, but she wants everyone else around her to reach their goals as well. I don't think the world is ready for a person like that. She's not selfish, she's not all about herself, and she's very open to wanting everyone around her to succeed just like herself."
