Classroom Champions: Robinson's Kaegan Walker
Kaegan walker could have her choice of any schools to attend next fall, but the Robinson valedictorian is choosing one near and dear to her heart in Texas A&M.
“I’ve grown up in an aggie family,” said Walker. “Both my parents were Aggies. I'm majoring in mechanical engineering. A&M has a great mechanical engineering program.”
It seems like this future Aggie will thrive in her major.
“Because I love math so much and I like to know how things work and stuff like that,” said Walker.
Kaegan isn’t just satisfied with being number one in the classroom. She also wants to be number one on the court. She was named first team all-district in volleyball in 2017 and was named the 18-4A Hitter of the Year, this season.
“I just love the sport so much and whenever I first started playing it didn’t come naturally to me but I loved it so much I just wanted to get better,” said Walker. “And I really just focused on putting in the work. And you know what you put into it is what you get out of it.”
That hard work on the court, and in the classroom, as well as volunteers heart, she volunteers with the Women's and Children’s center of Waco as well as Justice 4 Mutts, is what makes Kaegan a classroom champion.
