Clifton beats Rice 49-7 in playoff opener

WACO, Texas The Clifton Cubs kept their perfect season going Friday night with a playoff opening win over Rice. The Cubs scored 49 points on their way to a 49-7 victory.

Clifton scored in the first on a Mason Brandenberger run and then a Brandenberger pass to build a 14-0 lead in the first. Rice answered with a score early in the 2nd quarter but Clifton went right down the field and scored on a long pass play to make it 21-7.

The Cubs then scored the next 28 points unanswered to put away the Bi-District win 49-7.
