HUNTSVILLE, Texas The Connally boys lost 88-74 to Houston Yates in the region semifinals Friday night as their playoff run came to an end.
Yates jumped out to a fast start against the Cadets, scoring early and often to build a 10-2 lead to begin the game. JoQuarius Valrie had a couple of early 3's to set the tone for Yates.
Connally responded a bit thanks in part to Korie Black who made some key plays in the first half to get the Cadets going offensively. Still Connally trailed by double digits after a quarter and at the half. They played basically even with Yates throughout the second half but couldn't make up any significant ground.
As a result, the Cadets fell 88-74 and their season ends at 19-13 overall.
