CRAWFORD, Texas (KWTX) The Crawford Lady Pirates have been rolling all year, posting 47 wins opposite four losses.
If Crawford does defeat Burton (34-15) to advance to the 2A final scheduled for Friday, the plan is for the Pirates football team to be there for that game prior to their playoff game at 8 p.m. against Honey Grove.
The playoff football game is in Forney, which is about 30 minutes from Garland, where the volleyball team will be playing Wednesday at 3 p.m., and possibly at the same time on Friday.
This volleyball playoff run is also special for the students of Crawford High School.
"(The students) were very excited that they don't have to go to school Wednesday," sophomore Lexi Moody said. "We get good luck wishes all the time and they were always very supportive of us."
"Playing the 3 o'clock game, the administration and community supporting us by canceling school and giving everyone a chance to go is really cool," head coach Jeff Coker said.
The Lady Pirates are hoping for their second state championship in three years.
"The Crawford community is unreal," senior Peyton Elmore said. "They support us in everything we do. It's been amazing."
