The XFL suspended operations Friday and informed all employees that they had been terminated. It's reported that the league has no plans to return in 2021.

Drew Galitz graduated from Baylor in 2018 and played with the Dallas Renegades this season.

"I woke up in the morning and found out on twitter, and I kinda honestly was like really shocked because I didn't hear anything from the coaches or anyone," explained Galitz.

When the XFL suspended their 2020 season in the fifth week due to the coronavirus, players were told to stay ready.

"I mean, I've been training and staying in shape,"said Galitz.

The reality the XFL is done. A month ago, though, Drew Galitz was living out a dream of playing football after his days at Baylor.

"You know being from Dallas and playing at Globe Life was awesome," added Galitz.

Galitz suffered an ACL tear in his junior and senior years of college. Workouts with NFL teams occurred quickly after he was cleared to play again, so the XFL was a perfect fit.

Now Galitz turns to what's next. This will hopefully include football, possibly the NFL, but no matter what, he says, "Sic 'Em Bears."
