WACO, Texas (KWTX) Juicy Landrum shined at La Vega High School, bright enough that coach Kim Mulkey brought her to Baylor.
Four years and one national championship later, Juicy caught the attention of the Connecticut Sun, who picked Landrum late in the third round.
"My mom saw it on TV first. My dad was cheering. I just started crying because I was so excited," said Landrum.
Landrum's next step is to attend training camp and work to make the roster cut. Training camps are currently postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
