WACO, Texas Hayden Kettler was outstanding on the mound as Baylor won on opening night 12-0 over Holy Cross.
The Bears used just 9 hits to score their 12 runs on opening night. They did a great job of capitalizing on Holy Cross mistakes. Crusader errors led to Baylor scores as the Bears made the most of their 9-hit attack Friday.
Baylor scored 2 runs in the first inning, 3 in the third and fourth innings, and 4 more in the 6th to put the game out of reach.
On the mound, Hayden Kettler struck out 8 in just 7 innings of work for Baylor as he picked up his first win of the season. Kettler allowed only 4 hits to opposing hitters.
Baylor and Holy Cross will meet again on Saturday when Cody Bradford takes the mound for the Bears.
