WACO, Texas (KWTX) The Baylor Lady Bears have won 19 straight games overall and lost just once in 28 tries this season.
Baylor (27-1) has seemingly locked up a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, but another perfect Big 12 regular season entices the Lady Bears. They can wrap up another 18-0 mark in conference play against West Virginia Monday night.
"It is important because you're a competitor," Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey said. "It has absolutely no bearing on the conference championship, it won't have any bearing on the national number one seed because everybody else has lost in the last two weeks. But we want to win. When you toss it up, competitors want to win just as West Virginia wants to be the team the only team that beats us in conference this year."
"It's definitely a mini goal," senior forward Kalani Brown said. "It's toward the end. (We) can't slip up, can't be complacent, just gotta stay focused for one more game and focus on the Big 12 opponent.
"It's just as big of an opponent as it was (Saturday). Just gotta prepare, stay focused and keep doing what we've been doing -- taking it one game at a time."
Baylor and West Virginia tip off at 6 p.m.
