Lady Bears use big second half to beat Iowa State

WACO, Texas The Baylor Lady Bears stayed perfect in Big 12 play with a big win over Iowa State Wednesday night 84-69.

The Lady Bears were up by 6 at the half and that's partly because Iowa State's Bridget Carleton was red hot in the first half. Carlton scored 24 points before halftime and led the Cyclones. Baylor shut Carlton down in the second half allowing her to only score 4 points after the break.

Baylor turned up the defense in the second half and pulled away from Iowa State. Baylor built a double-digit lead after halftime and eventually won by 15.

Lauren Cox led Baylor with 22 points including the 1000th point of her Baylor career. Kalani Brown had 18 points, Juicy Landrum had 16. Every Baylor starter finished with double figures in scoring for the game.

Baylor is now 6-0 in Big 12 play and will play the next two games on the road.
