A handful of local football players signed on the dotted line Wednesday on day one of the early signing period. Among them, three from Temple High School.
T.J. Franklin signed to join Baylor as a defensive lineman. Franklin has had a tremendous career on the line for the Wildcats. His teammate Jared Wylie will go to Texas to play tight end despite a good year at quarterback in his senior season. Markel Reed takes his talents to Boise State to play defensive back, he was a big time playmaker in Temple.
Killeen had two players sign, Raquan Thompson is a defensive lineman going to Tulsa and his teammate D.J. Dormeus is heading to Houston Baptist to play wide receiver.
Belton's Devin Martinez will go to Texas State, he'll join their defensive line.
China Spring running back Erik Hart is going to the FCS level, he'll join Northwestern State of the Southland Conference.
