Jerry Malone, who coached the Marlin Bulldogs from 1993 through some of the 2008 season, has passed away at the age of 73.

Malone, who helped guide Marlin to the 3A Division II state championship in 2003, had a record of 130-58 before resigning during the middle of the 2008 season due to health concerns. He then spent time at Chilton and Beckville.

Prior to his time at Marlin, Malone also coached at Harmony for three seasons before spending the 1983-1992 seasons as Willis' head coach.

Malone's family is planning a "Celebration of Life" ceremony in the late summer or early fall, and is hoping for all students who were impacted by him to attend. A specific date will be announced later.
