MCC sweeps baseball doubleheader over Temple

WACO, Texas The MCC baseball team used pitching and timely hitting to sweep a doubleheader over Temple Wednesday at home.

Game one featured and outstanding outing from Alex Deleon who allowed only one early run to the Leopards on his way to the win. Deleon pitched well and got plenty of help from his offense.

That offensive effort was led by Garrett Martin who blasted a 3-run home run in the third to put the game away early. Martin's blast to left center capped a 4-run inning for the Highlanders on their way to a 5-1 win.

The Highlanders shut out Temple in game two, run ruling the Leopards in a 10-0 victory. Brett Squires hit a 2-run home run for MCC. Then Vince Ippoliti followed with a 2-run home run one inning later.

MCC will try to finish a four game sweep of Temple with a pair of road wins on Saturday.
