New coaches speak at Big 12 Media Days

ARLINGTON, Texas Four new head coaches in the Big 12 will be showcased at AT&T Stadium this week. A couple made appearances today in Arlington, notably Texas Tech's Matt Wells and Kansas' Les Miles. The Jayhawks recently suspended sophomore running back Pooka Williams for one game because of a misdemeanor domestic battery charge, and Miles addressed that before any questions were sent his way.

"Violence will not be accepted with women, period. Action was taken immediately. We felt like a strong point was the made not only with Pooka Williams Jr. but with the team. For seven and a half months Pooka was going through a process and he didn't have the opportunity to spend time with his team, go to the weight room, you know, just be a part."

Matt Wells takes over at Texas Tech after leaving Utah State. Wells is ready for his team to be constant contenders in a usually offensive conference.

"I believe with all my heart we are going to win at Texas Tech. I know we are, I just don't know when. I don't know how much, how often, how early because there are still things out there that I still don't know and that's because we're not in August yet."
