Report: Morris arrested two days prior to dismissal from Lady Bears

WACO, Texas (KWTX) Former Baylor women's basketball player Alexis Morris, who was released from the team two months prior to the start of the 2018-19 season, was arrested two days prior to her dismissal, according to a report by NJ.com.

Baylor issued a statement September 11: "Sophomore guard Alexis Morris has been dismissed from the Baylor Lady Bears basketball team for violation of team rules, effective immediately.”

Morris, who started the final six games of the 2017-18 season after senior Kristy Wallace suffered a season-ending knee injury, averaged 16 points per game in her last five starts at Baylor and was expected to be the starting point guard this season.

The Beaumont, Texas native was announced by Rutgers as a transfer two weeks ago and is eligible to play for the Scarlet Knights January 2020.
