Rhule welcomes a nailbiting matchup with Rice

WACO, Texas (KWTX) The Baylor Bears have wasted no time putting points on the board in the first two games, scoring 35 points in the first half against both Stephen F. Austin and UTSA.

Because of that, and a solid defensive effort, the starters have been getting a lot of rest late in games.

"We're healthy, we're fast, we're all those things, but have we played 60 minutes yet? We haven't had to," Baylor head coach Matt Rhule said. "We're preparing ourselves and we're expecting to this week."

Baylor (2-0) is favored to beat Rice (0-3) by 26 points this week, so it's possible the starters will be out early again.

"(Rice is) a very smart, very tough team," junior defensive end James Lynch said. "They present a very complex offense. They've got a lot of different things. They can run different plays. On defense it's going to challenge us, but we'll be ready for them."
