WACO, Texas (KWTX) The No. 6 Temple Lady Leopards won both games of a doubleheader at the home of the McLennan Highlassies, 9-2 and 12-6.
Temple (26-6, 10-2 NTJCAC) scored the first nine runs of the game, highlighted by Savanna Parker's three-run home run.
McLennan (18-11, 9-4 NTJCAC) added two runs in the bottom of the seventh via an RBI single by Emeri Eubanks, who then scored on Rebeca Fajardo's RBI double.
In the nightcap, Temple and MCC each scored five runs in the first inning. The Lady Leopards had RBI singles from MacKenzie Purcell, Ava McCoy and Lenzi Stewart.
The Highlassies responded with a two-run home run from Arianna Perales, an RBI triple from Eubanks and an RBI single from Fajardo.
Temple tacked on six more runs in the second to take an 11-5 lead thanks in part to another RBI single from Stewart and a two-run triple by Alyssa Escamilla.
Both teams return to action Wednesday with doubleheaders at 1 p.m. Temple will host Hill, while McLennan will travel to North Central.
