(KWTX) The Texas Rangers’ four-game series against later this month against the Mariners was in limbo Wednesday after Washington state banned large group events in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Rangers were scheduled to play the Mariners from March 26 to March 29 in Seattle, but the ban announced Wednesday by the state’s governor, Jay Inslee, prohibits large gatherings in all three counties of the Seattle metro through at least the end of the month.

“We will be working with Major League Baseball and the Mariners on alternate plans for the scheduling of these games,” the Rangers said in a brief press release Wednesday.
