The Baylor Bears gave up 6 touchdown passes to Patrick Mahomes and his Texas Tech offense as the Red Raiders routed the Bears 54-35 in Arlington.
Mahomes and the Texas Tech offense took control in the first half scoring 41 points before the Bears had a chance to get into the locker room and regroup. Baylor scored late in the half to cut the lead to just 20 points but it was a half dominated by Mahomes and the Red Raiders.
Baylor played better in the second half while chipping away at the Red Raider lead a few times but the Red Raiders had too much firepower for Baylor. Mahomes threw those 6 TD passes and 586 yards through the air. Four different receivers caught TD passes.
Zach Smith played better in his second Baylor start throwing for 377 yards and 3 TD's while throwing only one interception.
Terrance Williams ran for 147 yards and 2 TD's on the ground to lead Baylor's rushing attack.
K.D. Cannon had 132 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns.
Baylor has now lost 5 straight games to fall to 6-5 on the season. They close out the regular season next week at West Virginia.
