KERRVILLE, Texas The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team tightened its grip on the lead in the final round and the Cru won the Schreiner Spring Shootout Tuesday in Kerrville. The UMHB women have now won both of their tournaments to start the spring schedule.
The Cru posted a tournament-best 318 on Tuesday to close out the event with a 327-318=645 total. UMHB topped second-place Trinity University’s 329-325=654 by nine strokes. Tournament host Schreiner University finished third with a 340-343=683 team score.
Olivia Robinson won the individual title in a scorecard playoff after tying for first place with Trinity’s Raquel Hill. Robinson fired a 77-74=151 while Hill finished with a 76-75=151. UMHB’s Cassidy Rawls finished third after posting 82-77=159, Victoria Gleghorn tied for fifth place with an 81-85=166, Jade Ming shot 87-82=169 to tie for eighth place and Annika Criss took 14th place with a 93-89=182.
The two-day, 36-hole event was played on a par-72, 5,877-yard layout at Comanche Trace Golf Club in Kerrville. The Cru women will return to action with the Westbrook Village Invitational in Arizona on Saturday and Sunday.
