BELTON, Texas (UMHB) University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Markeith Miller has been named American Southwest Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cru’s 80-7 victory over McMurry University on Saturday. This is Miller’s third ASC weekly honor of the season.
Miller, a senior running back from Garland High School, ran for 146 yards and four touchdowns on just 11 carries against the War Hawks. He also caught two passes for 18 more yards. Miller averaged 13.3 yards per carry and scored on runs of 58, 14, 14 and five yards. He also became the first player in Cru history to reach 1,000 yards rushing in three consecutive seasons. Miller shares this week’s award with Hardin-Simmons quarterback Ty Hooper.
UMHB is now 8-0 overall and 7-0 in ASC play following the win over McMurry. The Cru will host Louisiana College (4-4, 4-3 ASC) in a 1 pm kickoff at Crusader Stadium in the regular season home finale this Saturday.
