For the past 26 years, Marty Herbst has been a fixture at Waco High School. For the past six, he has led the Waco High Football program.
All that changed on Thursday, when Herbst announced his retirement.
The now-former Waco High head man told KWTX the the decision wasn't an easy one, but that he's excited to do some traveling with his wife, among other things.
He also added that he could find his way back to coaching again, though probably not as a head coach.
Herbst spent time at Bridge City before his stint at Waco.
