3 men arrested, charged with impersonating public servant

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) Three Central Texas man remained in the Bell County Jail Friday after being arrested and charged with impersonating a public servant.

Maj. TJ Cruz with the Bell County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called out to the area of FM 93 and Spurs 93 around 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday for a reported armed subject.

The person told deputies the men blocked them in with their vehicles using red and blue emergency lights.

Deputies were told the men left and were headed toward Academy, Cruz said.

When they caught up with the suspect’s vehicles and arrested them.

John E. Burroughs, James E. Mercer and Joshua Adkins remain in the Bell County jail on bonds totaling $100,000.
