Troy: I-35 traffic backs up after 18-wheeler bursts into flames

TROY, Texas (KWTX) Southbound traffic backed up Wednesday on Interstate 35 through Central Texas after an 18-wheeler burst into flames in Troy.

The driver told authorities he was headed south on the highway at around 5 a.m. Wednesday when he heard an unusual noise.

He said the truck burst into flames after he pulled over.

He was able to escape without injury.

The right and center lanes and the shoulder of the southbound interstate were closed in the area of the fire at FM 933/Main Street in Troy and were expected to remain closed until late Wednesday morning.
