CLIFTON, Texas (KWTX) A Clifton police officer who, according to arrest warrant affidavits, provided alcohol to a 15-year-old boy and inappropriately touched the teen during a wedding party was jailed Tuesday.
David Christopher Boen, 30, turned himself in to the same jail he used to work at early Tuesday morning after he was named in warrants charging indecency with a child by sexual contact and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
He was released from the McLennan County Jail Tuesday evening after posting bonds totaling $22,000, according to jail records and staff.
The charges stem from an investigation that started earlier this month when McLennan County deputies received a report that Boen touched underage child inappropriately during a wedding reception on June 10, 2017 in Waco.
In a recent forensic interview, the minor said Boen was handing him alcohol and he drank it, then when they were alone, he said Boen began to talk with him about sex and told him he bet the boy was becoming aroused, the affidavit says.
The teenager told the interviewer he “briefly exposed his penis to David, validating to David” that he had not become aroused, and as he did, “David then grabbed the (victim’s) penis and began to rub it,” the affidavit says.
The teenager said he pulled away from Boen, who then walked off, the affidavit says.
When an investigator contacted Boen about the incident, he got a call from Boen’s lawyer who “advised David would not be speaking to me about the case filed,” the affidavit says.
According to Clifton Police Chief Trace Hendricks, Boen has been employed with the agency for less than one month and remains on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Boen is a former MCSO jail deputy who left in 2017 to work for a Constable, agency officials confirmed to KWTX Tuesday.
Multiple sources say he’s worked for “several” law enforcement agencies in the area.
