KEMPNER, Texas (KWTX) Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit officers have arrested a Kempner man on a possession of child pornography charge, Attorney General Ken Paxton said Friday.

John Walter Sickles, 53, was arrested following an investigation that started after a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identified a file of child pornography that had been uploaded on social media, Paxton said in a press release.

Child Exploitation Unit officers and Lampasas County deputies served a search warrant at Sickles’ home and seized digital storage devices, which the Digital Forensics Unit of the attorney general’s office will examine.

Lampasas County authorities are conducting a separate narcotics investigation after discovering what’s believed to be methamphetamine in the residence, Paxton said.
