Baylor wins Big 12 Tournament championship with 67-49 win over Iowa State

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma The Baylor Lady Bears beat Iowa State 67-49 Monday night in Oklahoma City to claim another Big 12 Tournament championship.

Kim Mulkey was emotional in her postgame interview after leading her win to a tenth Big 12 tournament championship in 19 seasons as head coach.

Baylor jumped ahead of Iowa State quickly in the first quarter leading by double figures in the early stages. Iowa State rallied in the 2nd quarter to close the gap and eventually tie things up. The Lady Bears responded to lead by 5 at the half.

The third quarter was close as well, the two teams trading baskets and runs throughout those ten minutes. The fourth quarter was a different story. Baylor dominated Iowa State in the final ten minutes thanks to a big night from Kalani Brown, Chloe Jackson, and Lauren Cox. Baylor outscored Iowa State 19-5 in the fourth quarter using their defense to put the championship win away.

Brown finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Lauren Cox had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Jackson finished with 16 points and 5 assists.
