Police looking for suspect after local woman attacked by intruder

BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) Police were looking for a man Saturday after a local woman was assaulted inside her home after he entered her home overnight.

Bellmead police said they were called just after 6 a.m. Saturday to a home in 4000 block of Utah Street.

They arrived to find the injured homeowner.

She told officers the man entered her home through an unlocked door, and she awoke from the noises he was making, police said in a news release.

The victim told police when she went into her living room the suspect demanded money and when she refused he hit her in the head.

The woman described the suspect as a 6 foot tall black man, with a slim build. He was wearing a dark hoodie with a bandana over his face.
