Belton: City initiates Stage 1 drought conditions

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) The City of Belton has initiated Stage 1 drought conditions as a result of high water usage as temperatures soar.

Under Stage 1, residents are asked to conserve water voluntarily to reduce usage by refraining from filling swimming pools or washing cars.

Additionally residents are asked to discontinue or limit outdoor watering to Sundays and Thursdays for those with street addresses ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8), and Saturday and Wednesdays for those with street addresses ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, or 9).

Watering should be limited to the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. or 8 p.m. to midnight on designated watering days.
