GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) Crews rescued two men who were left clinging to tangles of tree limbs Wednesday after a boat the two were using to herd cattle to higher ground along the swollen Leon River in Gatesville capsized.
Crews in swift-water boats pulled the two men to safety.
Further details weren’t immediately available.
The cattle were stranded on a ranch along the river east of Faunt Le Roy Park in Gatesville.
The river was almost 8 feet above flood stage Wednesday afternoon in Gatesville, but has crested and is expected to fall below flood stage Sunday night.
