Central Texans brave lines, traffic for Black Friday deals

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Across Central Texas, shoppers were out looking for the best deals on Black Friday.

From braving the long lines and holiday traffic, shoppers say it was worth it to get the savings.

Kiana Elmore visited the Best Buy in Killeen on Black Friday, which was a huge accomplishment. Elmore says this was the first time she has gone out during the busy shopping day.

But why?

"Umm, I don't know. I was just like, let's do this. Let's just go out and see what the fuss is about," she said.

As with most Black Friday sales, customers inside Best Buy were looking to grab their hands on this year's hottest big screen televisions.

Of course, for a low price.

"Good deals, good prices. Enjoyed the day. Got stuff for ourselves, a TV, got some stuff for our son, that's about it," Gary and Cherri Gound said.

Just a few minutes away at the Killeen Mall, shoppers were also taking advantage of some big sales.

"Stuff was more organized. Wasn't nearly as crazy or dangerous. I didn't have any issues. Nobody was pushing or shoving or anything," Caitlin Baigent said.

In all, Black Friday marks the beginning of a busy holiday shopping season. If you weren't lucky to catch any deals this week, Cyber Monday is coming up.
