COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KWTX) An area graduate is now in command of a missile cruiser in the U.S. Navy.
Captain Anthony Littmann graduated from Texas A&M in 1996 and received his commission.
After spending more than two decades rising through the ranks he assumed command of the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser U.S.S. Monterey this month.
He's been previously assigned as a weapons officer and combat systems officer and he's also been commander of the U.S.S. Chaffee, which received three awards for battle efficiency during his time aboard.
So he's well equipped for his new command.
After some planned maintenance, the U.S.S. Monterey will take to the seas with Capt. Littmann in charge.
