Airman Kanesia Daniels is part of a helicopter strike squadron based in Coronado, California.

She's an ordnanceman which means she maintains and inspects torpedoes, missiles, and bombs carried aboard an MH-60 R helicopter.

It's known as the Seahawk.

The job of Daniels' squadron is to hunt for submarines, search for surface targets, and conduct search and rescue operations.

Daniels graduated from Rice High School in Corsicana in 2010 and she graduated boot camp as the number one recruit in her training command class.

She says her upbringing helps her on the job especially when it comes to teamwork.

"I'm from a small town, a big family that goes to church, so what I can take from growing up there is the determination and faith to stick together to complete our mission," Daniels said.
