Central Texas grad leads Texas A&M Corps of Cadets to race victory

WOODWAY, Texas (KWTX) A member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and Midway ISD grad led his running team to a first place honor in Washington, D.C.

Duncan Russell is the captain of the Corps' 10 miler team.

Last month they competed in the 35th annual Army Ten Miler along with about 35,000 other runners.

The race began and ended at the Pentagon and his team placed first among senior military colleges.

After the race he and other students stayed in Washington a few more days to attend an Army career development conference, visit Capitol Hill, and tour the war memorials.

Russell hopes to attend grad school and become a psychologist in the Army.
