Officers found the infant, identified in an autopsy report as Quan Kendrick Scott, unresponsive and not breathing just before noon on Jan. 14 after responding to a call in the 3600 block of LIttleleaf Drive, police said.

They performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The infant was taken to Advent Health where he died at around 1 p.m.

A woman who says she was at the home told KWTX she was also babysitting Quan and his siblings.

"Well, we were babysitting the kids but I left for the night. So, she was watching the kids and when I came back in, I went straight to sleep. She woke me up to the dead baby," the woman said.

The woman, who did not want to be identified on-camera, says she didn't find out what happened from Parker until days later.

"Did she (Parker) say it was an accident?" News 10's Brandon Hamilton asked.

"She said she just didn't mean to do it," the woman replied.

Parker was arrested on a warrant charging injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

The baby's mother told KWTX she is planning a cremation ceremony and is "hanging in there" and "taking it day-by-day."

“Through the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Special Victims Unit, revealed that a caretaker had intentionally caused injuries to the infant,” police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said Thursday.

Parker was held in the Killeen City Jail until a transfer to the Bell County Jail late Thursday in lieu of $1 million bond.

The infant suffered a skull fracture, according to an arrest warrant affidavit released Thursday that identified Parker as the babysitter who was caring for the boy and his siblings.

Parker, the affidavit says, “confessed that she had thrown the baby into the car seat causing the injury because she was frustrated that the children’s mother had not come to pick up the kids.”
