Central Texas police departments participate in Drug Take-Back Day

(KWTX) Police departments throughout Central Texas are participating in national Drug Take-Back Day Saturday.

Across the country from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs may be dropped off with no questions asked at more than 5,800 designated locations including more than 300 in Texas and a number in Central Texas, as well.

Some sites have extended hours, including the Waco Police Department, which is accepting unwanted drugs from Friday through the weekend in the department lobby at 3115 Pine Ave.

The Baylor Police Department is accepting unwanted drugs from Saturday through Monday at its office in the Speight Plaza Parking facility at 1521 South 4th St.

Police departments in Woodway, Bellmead, Robinson, Hewitt, Lakeview, Lorena, Whitney, Temple, Hillsboro, Gatesville, Nolanville, Harker Heights, Killeen, Copperas Cove and Lampasas are also participating.
