WACO, Texas (KWTX) Fresh off a win as the Female Vocalist of the Year by the Texas Country Music Association, Holly Tucker is set to release her first single in years Friday.
"I'm so excited," Tucker said.
"It's been a little over two years since the last thing I got to put out of my own so it's time."
The single, titled “The Finer Things,” is from an upcoming EP by the Central Texas singer who made a nationwide splash as a contestant on the NBC hit show "The Voice" that’s set for release next spring.
The song will be released nationwide Friday to radio and on digital programs.
Tucker said she wrote the song during a session with songwriters in Nashville as a nod to the things money can't buy.
"In the process of doing that we were starting to talk about how nice it would be to have a vacation, just really nice things in life but at the end of the day it's our families," Tucker said.
"And our experiences that we get to share with people that we love that are the important things in life."
Tucker was named the Female Vocalist at Will Rogers Auditorium in Fort Worth on October 15.
