Central Texas teen indicted in deadly hit-and-run

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A Temple teenager arrested after a hit-and-run in March that left an Austin man dead has been indicted for failure to stop and render aid.

Nikeya Sherrod Crumb, 19, remains in the Bell County Jail in lieu of $125,000 bond.

He was originally charged with accident involving serious bodily injury and tampering with evidence, according to online jail records.

He turned himself in on May 9, the same day a warrant was issued for his arrest, Temple police said.

Officers who responded to the accident at around 9:20 p.m. on March 11 found Mario Arriaga, 54, of Austin, lying in the roadway in the 1500 block of Scott Boulevard.

He was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where he later died.
