Central Texas woman charged in crash that killed 2 sentenced

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) A Central Texas woman charged in a crash that left a local couple dead was sentenced Friday.

Audra McQueen, 36, was found guilty of criminally negligent homicide in connection with a three-vehicle crash on Sept. 28, 2017 in the 2600 block of South 5th Street in Temple that left William Schumann and his wife, Martha Schumann dead.

McQueen was driving southbound when she crossed lanes and her vehicle crashed into two vehicles including the SUV in which the Schumann’s were riding.

A visiting judge Friday sentenced McQueen to a six-month state jail term in the death of Martha Schumann and a two-year state jail term in the death of William Schumann probated for five years with Substance Abuse Treatment Facility participation, a two-phase process that typically starts in a confinement facility and ends with a term in a halfway house
