COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) Copperas Cove City Council members voted 7-0 Tuesday to name interim City Manager Ryan D. Haverlah to replace former City Manager Andrea Gardner, who resigned in February 2018.
“The official appointment date has not yet been determined,” the city said in a press release Tuesday.
Haverlah earned a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting in 2002 from Angelo State University and graduated from Texas State University’s Certified Public Manager Program in December 2016.
Since joining the city staff in March 2011, Haverlah has served as budget director, assistance finance director, assistant to the city manager, and deputy city manager.
He has served as interim city manager since Gardner’s resignation became effective on Feb. 16, 2018.
He and his wife, Erica, are the parents of three boys.
Gardner cited personal reasons for her resignation, which she submitted to the council in January 2018.
Gardner, who has more than a decade of local government experience, was hired as Copperas Cove’s assistant city manager/finance director on Jan. 3, 2006 and was appointed as city manager in September 2007.
